DNA Hedgehog Hustle, AZ Series #2
My first race of 2011, with a sinus infection and chest cold….not a good idea. But still amazed myself and I am very happy. Well, except for that sidewall tire slash toward the end. But, that’s racing This course was VERY rocky and VERY technical both uphill and downhill. I loved it. I had a major battle with a Canadian Pro Triathlete registered as an expert. She was tough. But I held her off the whole race until my rear tire felt very squishy. She passed me and I walked and partially rode back to the finish still placing 1st in the Pro category w/o any other racers passing me after my flat.
I had a great race and was excited to get back into it. I want to thank Ergon for my grips that saved my hands from all the rock pounding. Another huge thanks to NoTubes, the wheels held up and even lasted when I had a flat and should NOT have been riding on it…..sshh. Also the Joule from Cycle-Ops Power Tap is sweet and allows me to analyze my race fitness. Next stop, 24hrs of Old Pueblo…..4 person NoTubes Women’s Elite team. My teammates are staying at my house the week of the race, should be a blast
