Stan’s NoTubes Elite Women’s Team and NoTubes Elite Cyclocross Team were begun in 2011 by team racer and founder Shannon Gibson at the request of long time sponsor Stan’s NoTubes. Born like all good ideas, after a bike ride on a beautiful fall day in 2010, NoTubes Engineer Mike Bush and Shannon hatched a plan to bring many of NoTubes already sponsored riders under one banner as the Stan’s NoTubes Elite Women’s Team. Fulfilling the mission Stan’s NoTubes co-owner Cindy Koziatek champions, supporting women on bikes, the team is a collection of diversely talented riders. With the common goals of advancing women’s cycling, refining women’s cycling products, working hard for their sponsors, being articulate and approachable, and riding their butts off at a race course near you, each of the riders on the roster is experienced and accomplished in her own right. Together as one team they represent a rare combination of professionalism and passion for cycling. All of the women have careers adjunct to or outside of cycling, bringing a richness of real life experience and a plethora of valuable skill sets to the team; proof that women are good at multitasking!
Through their racing, clinics, and mentoring of riders young and old, including the Get Out! junior development programs, the team hopes to bring awareness to the issues associated with women in cycling and cycling in general. Approachable, knowledgeable and downright fast on the bikes, look for the NoTubes Women’s Elite Team at the forefront in more ways than one during the season.
