Begins as it Ended
I finished up the road season as it began, by heading to Greenville, South Carolina. Jacob Muller, John Loehner, Dan Zmolik, Brian Hill, Jacob Hill, Ryan Mele, and myself made up the team. We had some exciting, tactical racing on two great courses. Jacob M got in the break on day one, the crit, and was good enough for a 4th place finish. On day two it was Mueller again that was the best placed rider in a strong 8th place. We all went out in Greenville to celebrate the end of the series and what for most of us was the end of the road season. For me, even with the injury, I am honored to have had the opportunity to get to know these riders and race side by side with true grit bike racers. The final SRS race in Greenville, was the crown jewel in what I would consider a great regional series. Very impressive for a first year event, and I would expect to see the rest of the nation following suit very soon.
The following day, while getting in a nice 2hr recovery ride on the back roads of Greenville, I was finally able to check out Paris Mtn for the first time. I am continuously impressed with the quality of riding in Greenville and the surrounding area. That evening I got packed up and eagerly awaited the mid morning flight to Las Vegas for Interbike and CrossVegas.
