Mical started mountain biking at the age of 20 with her dad and brother as a replacement to team sports. She soon fell in love with the atmosphere and the people, and her competitive side fell in love with racing, becoming 3x Canada Cup Series Champion, 3x Transrockies Champion, The Furious3 Fernie Champion, and a part of the Canadian National team since 2005.
As a competitor in local cyclocross races for a number of years, Mical isn’t new to the sport of cyclocross. 2011 was her first “big” cross season with a 2nd at the Rapha Focus event, and a couple of near podium finishes at the USGP races…finishing 12th after only competing in 4 of the 8 races, and 3rd place at Canadian Nationals with a separated shoulder.
Mical enjoys being able to give back to the cycling community with helping to lead riding clinics and in the creation of a women’s riding group. Off the bike, Mical is a full time Geologist working in the field on a drilling rig or in the office. In her spare time she loves sushi, cooking, gardening and chocolate.
