Jake Wells is a cyclocross and mountain bike racer from Avon, CO. Over the last few seasons he has become a top-ten performer in the US Elite cyclocross peloton and has also finished in the top 15 at both the US Cyclocross and Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships. In the summer, Jake is a cross-country mountain bike podium regular in his home state of Colorado and also dabbles in road racing with the Stan’s NoTubes Elite Men’s Road Racing Team. In his “free” time, he is the owner of SufferFest Sports Endurance Coaching, offering personal training, coaching and bike fitting services.
Jake’s highlights from the 2012-13 cross season include a 3rd place finish in the Masters 35-39 National Championship race in Madison, WI, 27th in the Elite Championship race, 3rd at the North Carolina Gran Prix and 9th at the Providence Cyclocross Festival.
Jake’s goals for this season include a top 15 finish at Elite Nationals, taking the top step in the Masters 35+ Nationals race and notching 3 top 5 finishes at UCI races through out the season.
Jake has some great international experience as well. In 2012, he traveled to Belgium with the Euro Cross Camp to immerse himself in the highest level of cyclocross racing while taking tubeless across the pond for Stan’s NoTubes. In 2013, he will be kicking off the season by racing the first UCI cyclocross race in China.
