Chris has been a professional bicycle mechanic off and on for 17 years. He has happily been wrenching, driving, feeding, cheering and grinding coffee for the Stan’s NoTubes Women’s and Cyclocross Teams for the last year. You can always get an easy “high five” or “thumbs up” from this guy.
Chris is originally from Silverton CO, and loves riding in his high altitude home mountains, the San Juans and La Platas. “It’s good to feel like your heart is ready to explode at 12,000ft, it takes your mind off your burning lungs and aching legs!”
In addition to attending the Barnett Bicycle School for Mechanics way back in 1997, Chris earned his B.A. in Literature at Fort Lewis College in Durango as well as his M.S. in Recreation Administration at Texas State University in San Marcos. He is well versed in wilderness medicine, backcountry guiding, and general fooling around.
During the short months between cross and mountain bike seasons, you can find Chris guiding clients backcountry skiing in the San Juans, Ice climbing in Ouray, or kayaking the early flows of the Animas river.
