Today, everyone who had helped sponsor the outstanding work of the Ride2Recovery program received an email from Founder and President, John Wordin. We wanted to share some of the great rides this organization has been creating for injured veterans and some of the incredible work this group has done. John shared some inspiring firsts for the group, including the double arm amputee to complete an event.
R2R has been busy with events in Italy, the finish of the SPS Kids ride, and the Leadville 100. The Italy Challenge is the annual European event that is part of the UnitedHealthcare Challenge series. The highlight of the event was the tough climbing days that saw the participating warriors push themselves to a level that they were not sure was there. It is safe to say that the climb of the Gavia Pass is one of the greatest days in the history of Ride 2 Recovery.
The Ride 2 Recovery has just completed a very successful Leadville 100 MTB race. The team brought home 4 Gold and 10 Silver coveted Leadville buckles. We greatly appreciate the support of all of the sponsors that provided such great support to make these results possible
Next up is the Great Lakes Challenge. The route from Chicago to Detroit will feature a grand finish at the headquarters of Chevrolet and a Tigers baseball game.
